Job Summary – April 2015
Trinity College Dublin (TCD) is seeking to appoint a “Start-up Development Manager” to bring an enhanced commercial focus and holistic approach to TCD’s entrepreneurial activities. This role is in the context of TCD implementing a new Innovation and Entrepreneurship strategy focused on developing a strong culture of entrepreneurship at all levels within the College including undergraduate, postgraduate and academic staff. In order to ensure delivery on these ambitions this new role is being established.
The role will be multifaceted and will include supporting Trinity’s engagement with new businesses, interfacing with Trinity staff and students who are establishing new companies, interfacing with enterprise agencies who support the commercialisation of intellectual property and new company development; engaging with entrepreneurs, business partners, angel investors and venture capital companies in relation to the acceleration and funding of new business and the development of linkages with incubators and accelerators who may host or enable new businesses.
The ideal candidate should have direct experience as an entrepreneur and/or in a start-up environment and be able to demonstrate an excellent track record in securing funding in the areas of research, innovation and new company formation – to include angel investment & venture capital.
